The PICBasic Pro Compiler by microEngineering Labs can create programs for any of Microchip's PICmicro® microcontrollers and works with most PICmicro® programmers, including the EPIC Plus and Serial Programmer. Alternatively, you can use Boot Loader software to download your code directly to a development board without the need of a programmer, using the serial port on your computer. You can now download PICBasic PRO and experience for yourself why this compiler is the definitive choice for flexibility, performance and power. A rich instruction set, combined with complete PIC MCU support, makes the PICBasic PRO compiler the definitive choice for flexibility, performance and power.
Please note that we bundle MicroCode Studio PLUS with this compiler, which would normally cost an extra £29.95! Compiler Overview The PICBasic Pro Compiler itself gives you direct access to all of the PICmicro® MCU registers - Input/Output (IO) ports, Analogue/Digital (AD) converters, hardware serial ports, etc. - easily and all in BASIC. It automatically takes care of the page boundaries and RAM banks. It even includes built-in commands to control intelligent LCD modules. The PICBasic Pro Compiler instruction set is upward compatible with the BASIC Stamp II. Programs can be compiled and programmed directly into a PICmicro® MCU, eliminating the need for a BASIC Stamp module. These programs execute much faster and may be longer than their Stamp equivalents. They may also be protected so no one can copy your code.
The PICBasic Pro Compiler can also be used inside Microchip's MPLAB IDE. This allows programs to be edited and simulated within Windows. More information about MPLAB support can be found here. Development Environment
The development environment also includes a MicroCode Loader. The loader software enables you to program your microcontroller over a serial connection without the need of a hardware programmer.
The MicroCode Studio Plus ICD can really help accelerate program development. It's also a lot of fun and a great tool for learning more about programming PIC microcontrollers.
