Technical support for the PICBasic PRO demo compiler is limited to pre-sale questions about the compiler, microEngineering Labs do not offer specific problem-related support unless you own the full version. However, you can:
MicroCode Studio will automatically scan for the PICBasic PRO demonstration compiler the first time it is run. If you have another microEngineering Labs compiler installed (for example, the standard version) you will need to manually point MicroCode Studio to the correct installation folder. To do this, select VIEW...PIC BASIC OPTIONS from the main menu. Make sure the 'Compiler' tab is selected. Next, press the 'Find Manually...' button and select the folder containing the demo version of the compiler.
Purchasing the full version of PICBasic PRO will give you support for all of of Microchip's PICmicro® microcontrollers with no line limits for the code you write. Purchasing MicroCode Studio PLUS will give you In Circuit Debugging (ICD) support for many PICmicro® devices and bootloader software, which enables you to download your code directly to a development board (without the need of a programmer) using the serial port on your computer.
